Kirby's Dream Buffet

Kirby's Dream Buffet is a food-themed racing game in which up to four players roll through obstacle courses and grow bigger as they collect strawberries. It was announced in July 2022 for a summer release in Nintendo Switch via the Nintendo eShop.

In Kirby's Dream Buffet, up to four players roll through food-themed obstacle courses to collect strawberries, in a competition with four rounds. In the final round, players battle each other in "a fruity fight atop a floating platform," according to the Nintendo store description.

Players control a pink, green, blue, or yellow Kirby avatar. Non-playable Waddle Dee characters are also seen racing on some courses in the announcement trailer.

Development and pre-release

Kirby's Dream Buffet was announced via a trailer released by Nintendo on 12th July 2022. The trailer featured gameplay footage showing four differently-coloured Kirby characters (pink, green, blue, and yellow) racing through obstacle courses themed around desserts, hamburgers, and other foods, collecting strawberries along the way. The largest Kirby (i.e. the player that has collected the most strawberries) at the end of the stage wins.

The Japanese release date for Kirby's Dream Buffet was announced as 17th August, 2022 at the end of the Kirby 30th Anniversary Music Fest Live event, held on 11th August.
